
The members of the Translational Research and Innovative Medicine Laboratory (TrimLAB) proudly congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Praopim Limsakul, Principal Investigator of TrimLAB, on the successful grant of a United States Patent (U.S. Patent No. US 12,516,315 B2) for the invention entitled "Genetically Engineered Immune Effector Cells Comprising R-Phycoerythrin-Targeting Receptor Conjugated Chimeric Antigen Receptor." The patent was jointly invented by Yingxiao Wang, Praopim Limsakul, and Yiqian Wu, recognizing their collaborative efforts in advancing next-generation cancer immunotherapy.
The patented technology introduces a novel universal CAR-T cell platform that enables a single CAR-T cell product to be redirected toward different cancer targets simply by changing the PE-conjugated antibody used. This modular design eliminates the need to engineer a new CAR-T cell for each target, offering a more flexible and potentially cost-effective approach to personalized cancer treatment while simplifying the development of CAR-T therapies.
This achievement reflects the power of international collaboration in driving biomedical innovation.
